Was ist Klima-Kultur für Sie?
Klimakultur bedeutet, dass der sorgfältige und verantwortungsvolle Umgang mit dem Planeten an sich, explizit auch mit Tieren, ihren Bedürfnissen und Lebenswelten, selbstverständlicher Teil des täglichen und langfristigen Handelns ist, alle Lebensbereiche eingeschlossen.
Warum ist es so wichtig sich für unser Klima einzusetzen?
Wir sind auf diesem Planeten alle nur zu Besuch, entsprechend sollte man sich verhalten und benehmen.
Was kann jeder einzelne/ jede einzelne für mehr Klima-Kultur tun?
Konsum und Freizeitverhalten jeglicher Art (Lebensmittel, Kleider, Elektrogeräte, Ferien, Freizeit, Sport, etc.) ist eine hochpolitische Handlung, im Sinne, dass diese Tätigkeiten direkten Einfluss auf die Gesellschaft und Gemeinschaft haben. Entsprechend hat jede*r mehrmals täglich die Möglichkeit, im Sinne der Klimakultur ihre/seine Entscheidungen zu treffen.
Gelebte Klima-Kultur: Makoko Neighborhood Hotspot
Von 2013 – 2017 hat Fabulous Urban für die Slumsiedlung Makoko in Lagos einen infrastrukturellen Knotenpunkt entworfen, welcher nun rund 200 Menschen den Zugang zu mit einer Biogasproduktion verbundenen Gemeinschaftstoiletten und Wasseraufbereitung ermöglicht. Weiterhin dient der Makoko Neighborhood Hotspot als Instrument zur Stärkung der Gemeinde, als Lernzentrum und als Arbeitsplatz. Er ist Prototyp und Beispiel für ähnliche Communities, sowie als Inspiration für die Regierung wie in vielen Gemeinden mit strategischen und kostengünstigen Interventionen notwendige Infrastrukturen aufgebaut werden können.

What does climate culture mean to you?
Climate culture means that the careful and responsible treatment of the planet itself, including animals, their needs and environments, is a natural part of daily and long-term action, including all areas of life.
Why is it so important to work for our climate?
We are all visitors on this planet, so everyone should behave accordingly.
What can everybody do for more climate culture?
Consumption and leisure behaviour of any kind (food, clothes, electrical appliances, holidays, leisure, sports, etc.) is a highly political act, in the sense that these activities have a direct influence on society and community. Accordingly, everyone has the opportunity several times a day, to make his/her own decisions in terms of climate culture.
Living Climate Culture: Makoko Neighborhood Hotspot
From 2013 – 2017 Fabulous Urban has designed an infrastructural hub for the slum settlement Makoko in Lagos. Makoko Neighborhood Hotspot gives about 200 people access to community toilets and water treatment connected to a biogas production. Furthermore the Makoko Neighborhood Hotspot serves as an instrument to strengthen the community, as a learning center and as a workplace. It is a prototype and an example for similar communities, as well as an inspiration for the government on how to build necessary infrastructure in many communities with strategic and cost-effective interventions.
