Der „Klima Biennale Pavillon“ lädt Besucherinnen zum offenen Austausch und Verweilen ein. Er dient als Ort des Zusammenkommens, Startpunkt vieler Programmpunkte und Veranstaltungen und ist Ort der Diskussion: Hier wird Klima-Kultur diskutiert, verhandelt und praktiziert. Eine wetterfeste Textilüberdachung macht es möglich, den an sich offenen Pavillon auch bei Schlechtwetter für kleine Veranstaltungen (ca. 100 Personen) wie Diskussionen oder Performances zu nutzen. Der Pavillon ist kein abgeschlossener Raum, sondern tritt mit dem vorhandenen Innenhof in Kontakt, bettet sich in die vorhandene Vegetation und macht diese aus einer neuen Perspektive erlebbar.
Die im Hof des KunstHausWien vorhandene Vegetation, die in Pflanzbeeten am Rande der Umfassungsmauern verläuft, wird durch eine dichte waldartige Unterpflanzung ergänzt und erweitert. Diese Verdichtung steigert die Klima-Performanz, die besonders für Veranstaltungen im Frühsommer die Aufenthaltsqualität steigert.
Der Holzpavillon ist eine Wiederverwendung eines Teils des Klima-Kultur-Pavillons der 2021 vom Breathe Earth Collective in Graz aufgestellt war. Dort konnte die Installation bereits erfolgreich wichtige Impulse für Klima-Kultur setzen. Das Re-Use Konzept einer bereits bestehenden Holzkonstruktion spielt eine wesentliche Rolle im Kontext einer zukunftsfähigen Klima-Diskussion.

Festival center of the first Klima Biennale in Vienna. The “Climate Biennale Pavilion” invites visitors to an open exchange of ideas and to linger. It is a meeting place, a starting point for many of the programme’s events and a place for discussion: this is where climate culture is discussed, negotiated and practised. A weatherproof textile roof makes it possible to use the open pavilion even in bad weather for small events (about 100 people) such as discussions or performances. The pavilion is not an enclosed space, but comes into contact with the existing courtyard, embedding itself in the existing vegetation and allowing it to be experienced from a new perspective.
The existing vegetation in the courtyard of KunstHausWien, which runs along the edge of the perimeter walls in planting beds, is complemented and extended by a dense, forest-like underplanting. This densification increases the climatic performance, which enhances the quality of the stay, especially for events in early summer.
The wooden pavilion is a reuse of part of the Climate Culture Pavilion that was built by the Breathe Earth Collective in Graz in 2021. The installation has already successfully provided important impulses for climate culture. The concept of reusing an existing wooden structure plays a key role in the context of a sustainable climate debate.
